Nutramedica went out into our healing community and asked what you need to do to show up every day at your best for patients and family? In this edition, we talk to Dr. Michael Priestman. He's been a chiropractor for almost 35 years and a clinical nutritionist for over 11 years.

Key Takeaways

The year of living metaphysically About four years ago I decided to commit to a year of living metaphysically. And at that point, I decided to do yoga and meditation on a daily basis. And the results were nothing short of astonishing. They say that initially, you do yoga, then you grow and then yoga does you - and I believe that. That was game-changing for me. That's brought me to where I am today.

A Plant-Based Diet I am doing a whole food plant-based diet for myself and I'm introducing it to my patients. And I was expecting a lot more pushback because it's a dramatic commitment. But I get the typical concerns and worries, you know, well, where will I get my protein and how long do I have to do this? Do I have to be good all the time? What if I don't like vegetables? It's great to walk the walk yourself before you talk the talk with your patients. And again, I always say that patients will never be more faithful than you are.

Community Of Cyclists My cycling is primarily social. But I mean, anyone who's ever done any kind of social sport, you know, that there's no lack of competition there. And furthermore, peer pressure will get you out of the house on a rainy day when you would not even consider it otherwise. It has given me a goal because I don't want to let the team down and I don't want to be the last person holding everybody up.
