Introduction to Nutrigenetic Testing

Nutrigenetic testing is becoming an important tool for practitioners. But what is nutrigenetics and how can we use this emerging technology to improve outcomes for our patents? We invited Dr Charles Desmarchelier to give us an introduction to how genetic variations affect therapeutic interventions. This is an edited transcript of our interview with Dr. Charles Desmarchelier.

Today, we're going to talk about nutrigenetic testing and how practitioners can use this tool to better understand what nutritional strategies and supplements work best for each individual patient based on their genetic profile. Our mission is to give you the information you need to take better care of your patients, which is why we're going to do a series of programs on Nutrigenetic testing. Dr Desmarchelier is an Assistant Professor at the Center for Cardiovascular and Nutrition Research, a joint research unit with Aix-Marseille University, INSERM and INRAE, France. You can actually provide recommendations to limit the risk over a long period of time.
